Seti Karnali River

About Seti Karnali River

The Seti Karnali, famous for its fishing, rises on the flanks of the highest mountains in the Far West; Api and Saipal, both above 7000m, and then flows south and south east to join the Lower Karnali. This is a remote, beautiful and little travelled river that offers the same jungle wilderness and abundant wildlife as that of the Lower Karnali but at moderate difficulty. In addition. The further upstream is an excellent class 4+ ‘expedition’ kayaking. This river offers a choice of two or three levels of kayakings depending on where you start. The higher you go up, the longer it will take to trek in, the steeper the gradient, the harder the paddling, and the more time you will spend scouting and portaging.
