Origin and course: The Sunkoshi River originates in the Tibetan Plateau and receives its water from the Zhangzhangbo Glacier and the Bhote Koshi River. It originates in Tibet and flows through a beautiful valley in Nepal, where it joins the Arun and Tamor rivers to form the Saptakoshi River.
Rafting experience: It is considered one of the ten best rafting trips in the world. It is characterized by large rapids, warm water, beautiful scenery and excellent camping. It is suitable for intermediate to advanced kayakers, and rafters are comfortable on large waters. The world-famous Harkpur Rapids have been upgraded to Grade 3+, making the trip safer.
Duration: Due to its proximity to the BP Highway, a 5-day trip is currently possible. The Highway, sigificantly reduces the overall route length, making this expedition more accessable for the travelers with limited time.
